PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Most sports shoes are made of EVA and POE midsoles. EVA is soft and has good shock absorption, while POE has good durability and high resilience.
Supercritical fluid (SCF) refers to a fluid with pressure and temperature above the critical
point.
In the CO2 phase diagram (Figure 1), O is the triple point, at which point the three-
phase equilibrium states coexist. Point C is the endpoint of the equilibrium line between
gas and liquid phases, known as the critical point. At this point, the temperature and
pressure are respectively the critical temperature and critical pressure.
SCF maintains gas like properties while also exhibiting liquid like properties. Its diffusion
coefficient is 10-100 times that of a liquid. Excellent permeability, flow, heat and mass
transfer performance, therefore it has strong solubility for many substances and can
extract and separate non-volatile and thermosensitive substances at lower temperatures

EVA material is mainly used to improve the softness of shoes. Generally, the rebound of pure EVA foam material is between 40% and 45%. However, LG Chem's Bio circular balanced EVA and POE midsoles made by supercritical foaming process can achieve a rebound rate of 71% and a density of 0.147g/cm3.
